Riley starts school in 4 weeks!

Riley starts school 28 days from today! I can't even believe my baby has gotten so big! To help him get excited about how close it is, I made him this chain. He gets to tear off one link each day and I wrote how many days he has left and a little message inside each one. I am so excited for him. It is such a big milestone that he is approaching. He is going to do great, I just know it.

Hello Dolly!

So Reed and I got to use our season tickets to go to Hell... Oops. I mean Hales. Sorry, couldn't resist re-using a joke that an usher told me last night as he was seating us. I asked if we were in the right place and he said yes but unfortunately that also means that you are in Hell (Hales) haha. Anyway, here are a picture of Reed and I waiting for the show to start.

And look who was sitting one row behind us! It is Dad, Click and Mom! What a surprise running into them here! Just kidding. It was planned and we went out to dinner together before the show. But it was a surprise at how close their seats ended up being to us.

Here are a few pictures that I was able to snap of the set. It was cool and I love how ingenious they are with set changes and dealing with having the theatre be surrounded on all sides by seats, and how things come down out of the ceiling...

That being said, I still enjoyed the sets from Treasure Island more. Nothing against Hello Dolly because it was fantastic but Treasure Island's sets were amazing. Here are some pictures that I snapped from Treasure Island. All hail the camera phone, right?

Scottish Festival

We went to the Scottish Festival in Payson for a bit this afternoon and Riley stopped into the face painting booth. He named the snake on his arm Casey and the spider on his cheek John and asked if he could not wash them off until December.

Riley-ism

Riley is helping me clean the house and he wanted to vacuum. As he is doing it, he is hollering at the top of his lungs "die sucker!" over and over. As a mother, I can only hope that it is the beginning of his life-long commitment to eradicating germs, but still, it's a little odd.

Riley-ism

Riley was over at grandpa's today running through the sprinklers.
Grandpa pulled out a water toy so Riley could play with it.
Unfortunately it had a hard time staying upright. Finally grandpa
brought some rocks over to balance the base of it and Riley says "oh
good. You fixed it. Now I don't have to be pissed off."

Happy 5th of July!

Since a few of us had to work the night of the 4th of July, our family decided to light fireworks off on Sunday, when everyone could be together for it. We got together in the backyard and played and hung out. Casey taught us how to play ultimate frisbee, which I didn't get any pictures of..

Reed tossed the football around to the boys.
Grandpa lit sparklers for the boys and let them play around while we waited for it to get dark.

Casey got spoiled and got a foot rub and a back rub from Andrea.

Here are Andrea and I trying to decide whose feet look the most like moms...polish not withstanding.

We all just sat around and enjoyed being together

And waited for the finale... The Fireworks!

Happy 4th of July!!

In what has become something of a little 4th of July tradition for our family, I talked my parents, Andrea, Reed and Riley into coming up to Provo and meeting me after I got of work for some breakfast and then watching the balloon launch.
First we went out to breakfast at Village Inn in Springville.
Then, unfortunately, Reed had to head into work. The rest of us headed up to Fox Field to get a look at the hot air balloons.
Yes. My child is wearing a Home Depot vest. He goes to do the kids crafts, the first Saturday of each month and makes a little craft. He thinks its his job and every time we drive past he says "there's my work!" Well Grandpa Brad and Momma Lynn were going to take Riley there after the balloons while I went home to bed and he wouldn't take it off.
Here are some random balloon pictures to enjoy.

Poor Andrea. We made her wake up at 04:00 am so she was kind of tired...

And a little goofy...

I hate to tell her but... I think it's hereditary.

But all the awesome sisterly love makes it worth it though right?

Awww! Don't they look so cute?

We actually let Riley take this picture of us. I was sure it was going to end up a shot of just our legs but he didn't do too bad.

Mom ran into someone she knew, who happened to be the assistant to one of the balloon pilots...Who then let Riley walk inside the balloon with him. What a lucky little kid.

Here Riley is trying to cover Grandpa Brad's heart for him during the National Anthem.
And here he is showing off the candy he caught that was thrown from one of the balloons.

On the way out, of course we had to stop and pet every dog in sight. And by "we" I mean Andrea. I think she missed Bella. It's hard to leave your surrogate child/dog home.

After a quick hug from Smokey the Bear...

And a free Frisbee, shown here as a darling hat, and that was our 4th of July morning!
