SATURDAY JUNE 16, 2007 - PRE FATHERS DAY ACTIVITY

As a special gift to the old man, everyone got together and decided to weed the flower bed on the north side of the house.

While we were working hard Adam took on the task of entertaining Riley. I'm not sure which one was more work.

Soon everyone was in on the act.

A little warm weather + water + family = a whole lot of fun.

Later Mom took us all to the Spaghetti Factory for Dinner.

Memorial Day East Coast Style

While you guys were stuffing your faces with yummy breakfast food at the fire station I was rushing down the fire hose of water. OK well not literally a fire hose but it was a lot of water.
I'm talking about White Water Rafting.
A group of us went camping in West Virginia and went rafting on the Upper Yough in Friendsville, Maryland. Yes they have a town named Friendsville here. Original I know. :)
This River is full of class 4 and class 5 rapids. The do a dam release each weekend to create electricity and the rafters and Kayakers come out to take advantage of the flowing water.
We had to wear helmets and life vests and were only allowed 3 people plus a guide in the boat.
Now I've done some white water rafting before and this is like nothing I've ever done. It is a small river to start so it's extremely technical which means lots and lots of rowing. It was a blast and we only had one girl get tossed from the boat. She survived without any injuries just a bit shaken up. Enjoy the pictures of our decent into the nut cracker (that's the name of this specific rapid). By the way I'm the one on the right side up front. Just incase you couldn't tell.

what a rush!!!!!!!!

A MEMORABLE MEMORIAL DAY

On Memorial Day we all walked up to the Firehouse for the annual "Memorial Day Firemans Breakfast. It was just a quick walk up the block to the new Firestation on the corner. Of course Riley thinks he is a big boy and insists upon walking by himself.

We had eggs & sausage, hash browns, juice and Riley's favorite
"PANCAKES".

There were others that thought the grub was pretty good to.

This looks like a bunch of very satisfied people

After breakfast we got to explore the fire trucks!

A quick jump on grandpas back and we were headed for home with our bellies full and smiles on our faces.

It just don't get any better than this!!!!!

Love Dad

I'm The Luckiest Girl In The World

Today is Reed and my 8 year wedding anniversary. I cannot believe that 8 years ago today I was lucky enough to get to walk into the temple with Reed, kneel across the alter from him and know that I was going to be able to spend the rest of eternity with him. The thought still amazes me. I feel truly lucky that I was able to marry such a good man. Not only is he my best friend, but he is an amazing father. He makes me laugh, he is my shoulder to cry on, my rock to gather my strength. He supports me in anything I could ever want to do, and every day tells me that I am special and that he loves me. I really don't know how I could have gotten so lucky. I feel amazed that Heavenly Father knew me so well that there could actually be someone out there for me who was so perfect in every way I needed. Because, come on, if I was going to design my 'perfect man' does anyone in the family really think I would have chosen someone who was so into football? And yet, I have found over the years that Reed and I are a better fit than I could ever have imagined or hoped for. He makes all my weaknesses better just by being there and I fervently hope that in some small way I do the same for him. I love you Reed. Thank you for choosing to spend eternity with me. Thank you for being such a good father and giving me the most wonderful little boy I could ever have asked for. Happy Anniversary!
