A Father's Day Surprise... Blogged a little late

On Father's Day, we had a BBQ over at mom and dad's house. Here are some pictures of us chillin' in the backyard. Zac came with Andrea and Casey. When he saw that Riley's bike was there he asked Riley if Grandpa could take the training wheels off so that he could show us the tricks he could do. Riley said yes so Grandpa promptly removed them. After watching Zac ride around a little, Riley decided that he needed to learn how to ride without training wheels and have it be a surprise for Reed when he got off of work. He and Zac proceeded to give themselves the nicknames of "Master Disaster Zac" and "Wild Man Riley."

Here are some videos of him learning how to ride by himself. He was very proud.

Reeds new shirt

They gave these out at Reeds work yesterday. Very morbid. I
particularly love the picture of the person flying out the front
windshield of a car.

Riley-ism

A conversation over lunch.
Riley: Guess what mom? The girls are trying to kiss Malachi. They
tackled him and tried to kiss him.
Me: hmmm. Have they ever tried to kiss you?
Riley: no. I don't kiss them because I don't like them. I only like
Sierra.
Me: have you ever kissed Sierra?
Riley: no.
Me: good. You don't need to kiss girls until your 16.
Riley: you can trust me mom. Do you trust me?
Me: yes.

Riley may not "get" jokes yet...

Joke: why does a shark only like salt-water?
Rileys answer: because he doesn't like un-salty water.
Real answer: because pepper water makes him sneeze.

2nd Joke: why was the frog so happy?
Rileys answer: because he's great!
Real answer: because he ate everything that bugged him.

A JOKE FOR TODAY

Did you hear that Farah Fawsett died and when she arrived in heaven God told her she could have one wish granted as she enter the pearly gates. She said "I wish for all the little children to be protected" so God killed Michael Jackson.....................................

HAPPY BIRTHDAY REED 2009

Here are some random pictures that we took during our family birthday party for Reed. We did the usual outdoor barbeque with chicken, corn on the cob, fresh fruit salad and rolls. When the sun started sinking in the west we came indoors to avoid the mesquitoes and the dreaded "West Nile Virus". We played games, had cake and ice cream and just talked and laughed. What a great family we have.

Blowing out the Candels
It's hard to believe that these two beauties were both once "Miss Santaquin"

I was so insulted today when I went swimming with Riley and only had to pay $2.00 because I am now over 55 and Riley had to pay $4.00. I guess I have officially arrived at Old Geezerhood.
Here Riley and Mom are reading the story about how Zero Friends came to be. By the way Adam, thanks for my T-shirt. I love it.
We have lots of Scared Friends at our house! Here are a few of them.

Bella was in the middle of all the frakus never missing a chance for a free meal.

She loves Riley........or is it the food stuck to his face?

Mom thinks it's funny to put a towel over Bella head and watch her go nuts.

Happy Birthday Reed.

Riley-ism

We were driving down main st. coming back from the pool today when we
passed two missionaries getting into a car on the side of the road. I
said "look Riley, Missionaries!" Riley scrambles to push himself as
far out of the car window as his car seat will allow and yells "Teach
and preach the gospel!" to them as we drive past. Then he has Grandpa,
Reed and himself sing "I hope they call me on a mission."

I love my kid.
