Riley's first day of 5th grade

My baby is growing up. Here he is on his first day of 5th grade and a few pictures from orientation yesterday where he got to meet his teacher, Mrs. Francom.

IT'S BEEN A HARD DAYS NIGHT

Adam has been busy working on the new teacher recruitment campaign but decided that it was time to take some "ME" time.  He got tickets to the Paul McCartney concert at Candlestick Park in San Fran.  He said it was the best show he has ever seen.  Paul played alot of Beetle songs including Blackbird, Hey Jude, Life Goes On, Something in the Way She Moves, Let it Be and a ton more.  He played for 3 hours. The rest of us are jealous but are happy that Adam got to go.

Riley-ism

Riley and I saw a poster for the movie Alexander and the terrible horrible no good very bad day. I asked him if he had ever read the book. He said yes. "I loved it when I was I kid. I guess you could say it was a childhood favorite." He's 10. When did he grow up?

Riley-ism

I overheard a conversation today between some of the neighbor kids. Riley was sitting on our front porch today waiting for his friend Eric to come over. Some of the neighbor girls came over and wanted Riley to bring his Legos outside to play with on the porch. He told them no that he was waiting for his friend. One of the girls started saying over and over in a sing-song voice "bring out your Legos. Bring out your Legos." Riley says to her: provide your own entertainment woman!

Summer Fun

I just wanted to post a few quick pictures of some of the fun things that we have been up to. Riley's baseball team made it to the state championships, he had swimming lessons, we went to the Scottish Festival in Payson where Riley got a couple swords and walked in their pond that was dyed green, we visited the food truck roundup in Provo

and grandpa installed a zip line in the backyard.

the 24th of July

This year we were invited to a 24th of July party down at Greg's house. He had fun door prizes LOTS of delicious food and a pretty spectacular fireworks show.

Reed's birthday

We celebrated Reeds birthday by starting off with a lovely breakfast made by Riley, then later we went over to mom and dads for a bbq followed by some target shooting with the bb guns, a little Frisbee and just sitting around talking. Happy Birthday Reed! We are glad you were born.
