WASHINGTON DC / NYC 2012

Thursday April 5, 2012 - We flew into Baltimore and were picked up by Rachel.  That evening we had dinner with Jesus & Scott after they got off work and then went back to Rachel's for some well needed sleep.

Friday April 6, 2012 - Rachel had to work so she dropped us off at the Metro station near her home and we headed down to DC.  We visited the "Natural History" museum where we saw lots of dinosaurs and the "Hope" diamond. At noon we met up with Rachel for a tour of the "White House".  We had lunch at a fun place where we made Smores.  Rachel went back to work and we spent more time down on the mall.  We visited the "Ford Theater" where president Lincoln was assassinated. That evening we had dinner with Jesus's family.

Saturday April 7, 2012 - We visited Arlington Cemetery where we saw JFK's grave and the tomb of the unknown soldier and then spent the rest of the day visiting all the memorials around the mall area.   We walked our ever lovin butts off but had a great time and saw a lot of memorials including the Washington, Lincoln, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, FDR, Martin Luther King & Thomas Jefferson memorials. That evening we had dinner with Scott & Michelle and Scott's family and then watch fireworks.  

Sunday April 8, 2012 - We hopped on the train and went to New York.  After getting checked into our hotel we went for a little walk around New York and visited the "Empire State Building".  We met up with Kevin that evening for dinner.

Monday April 9, 2012 - We caught the subway down to battery park where we rode the ferry out to the "Statue of Liberty" and "Ellis Island".  We went to ground zero where the twin towers use to stand then on over to wall street.  A quick subway ride took us back up to Time Square.  That evening we had dinner at Roxies Deli where the sandwiches were so big two people can barely eat one.

Tuesday April 10, 2012 - On this day we hit all the highlights in Manhattan.  We started out by going over to "Rockafeller Plaza" where we discovered that they still had the ice skating rink going so we decided that we would go on up to FAO Shwartz and Central Park and then come back a do a little ice skating.  Later that evening we went to the Broadway Play "Spiderman".

Wednesday April 11, 2012 - Today was a more relaxed day.  We walked over to Grand Central Station and visited Rachel's Office.  Then Rachel went to lunch with a co-worker while we did some souvenir shopping and had lunch at the Hard Rock cafe.  Later we met Rachel at the hotel where we picked up our luggage and headed back to DC on the train.

Thursday April 12, 2012 - Back in DC we waited in line for an hour to get into the National Archives where we saw the original "Declaration of Independence - The U S Constitution - The Bill of Rights."  Next we went over to see the Air and Space Museum.  That evening we went to watch a dodge ball game that Jesus was in.  He let Riley join in with them.

Friday April 13, 2012 - After 8 days of go go go we headed home.  Exhausted but sooooo happy!
