While driving home this morning I met Reed to exchange Riley. As Riley was getting into the car he made some comment, I don't remember what exactly, about wanting to be home. This is the following conversation.
Momma: don't worry we are almost home.
Riley: are we in Colorado?
Momma: no. We are in Utah.
Riley: but Colorado touches Utah.
Momma: Yes it does. You are very smart. What's another state that touches Utah?
Riley: I just don't know.
Momma: Where was grandpa Ned born?
Riley: in Nevada. I already know that.
Momma: Does Nevada touch Utah?
Riley: no
Momma: It doesn't?
Riley: Oh yeah! It does!
Momma: What about California? Does that touch Utah?
Riley: no. California touches Nevada. Momma what are those big tall sticks that stick straight up?
Momma: those? They are power poles.
Riley: why did Jesus make them?
Momma: well Jesus didn't make them directly but he made the person who made them and made the world that they were made on so its kind of like he made them.
Riley: I think he DID make them.
Oh the mind of my 4 year old. I love its randomness.
