THE OLD GUYS 57TH B-DAY

Sunday was my 57th Birthday. Everyone kept asking me what I wanted for my Birthday and I kept saying the only thing a really wanted was to spend time with my great family. So the gang planned an awsome BBQ / Birthday Party for me that turned out to be perfect. Here are some pictures from the days activities. You can see why this is the best birthday present that anyone could ever ask for!

Thanks for a great Birthday. I love you all!!

Riley's Family Birthday Party

After the kids from Riley's friend's birthday party left we had the family come over for Riley's family party. It was a lot of fun, even though I don't have many pictures. I think I was just plain worn out from the 15 or so kindergarteners that I had been dealing with earlier. We had pizza...
Hung out...

And had cake and ice cream. We even had sugar free ice cream bars for Grandpa Ned. And sadly, my cake didn't turn out how I had wanted it to. The icing that I used for the design oozed and spread so that my shamrock didn't so much resemble a shamrock anymore. As Casey told me "That is a fantastic sting ray." Oh well, it still tasted ok.

Riley's Birthday

I know that I am shamefully late posting pictures from Riley's birthday party and I really have no excuse, except that when I am not at work I don't spend much time on the internet and I don't often go into our basement. It's cold and probably home to a gazillion spiders. Ugh. So the basement pretty much stays Reed and Riley's territory and I am never around the computer enough to remember to load the pictures.
My sad apology out of the way, here are some pictures from his birthday party with the kids from his class and a few neighbor kids and his cousins. The kids mostly congregated in the living room while we were waiting for everyone to show up. We played penny penny who has the penny as a way to pass the time.

Of course, the first thing that Riley did when Isaiah showed up is they began to wrestle. Boys. I will never understand them. After about 15 or 20 minutes we broke the kids down into more maneagable groups and had little stations set up around the house with different activities. At the kitchen table we had the kids making foam doorknob hangers that had shamrocks and pots of gold on them.
Downstairs, we had Riley's Pot O' Gold bean bag toss.

And in the living room we had pin the shamrock on the leprechaun.

And we finished it off with a game of duck duck goose. I know, not exactly St. Patty's day themed but I ran out of ideas. After the kids had their fill of the games (which happened a lot faster than I was anticipating) we took them outside where they played on Riley's swingset. Then we had a spanking machine. After that we did presents. We tried to keep it organized but the kids kept getting closer and closer until we pretty much lost Riley in a swarm of kindergarteners. He sure had fun though, which I guess is the whole point. The party is not something that I would have been able to do without all my fantastic helpers, a.k.a. Grandma Jan, Momma Lynn, Annie and Casey and of course Reed.

It's Riley's birthday

It looks like we had a little overnight visit from some fun loving
leprechauns at our house just in time to celebrate Riley's birthday!

Weekend at Bernies aka Adams Bday Party

We just couldn't let Adam's Birthday come and go with out throwing him a little party so even though he was MIA (missing in action) we compromised with the next best thing. Riley said that there is only one thing different between him and Uncle Adam and that is that Riley is missing his front teeth. By golly I think he's right.

One wild and Crazy guy.
